There are currently two certification tracks. One track is for those applicants with an allopathic license (medical and osteopathic physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners and physician assistants) and one track is for those applicants with a naturopathic license. The details of each track were determined by the Board members representing the respective allopathic and naturopathic professions, and are essentially the same as they were prior to the merger. Both tracks include a written exam and case submissions. Our ultimate goal is to merge the two tracks but we want to make these changes gradually. As part of this process, we will be monitoring the outcomes of the certification process for each profession.
